Size & Fit
Choosing the right size is the most important part of buying an electric balance bike. A bike that fits makes a child feel safe and in control, and it lasts longer before they outgrow it. This guide shows you how to pick the right Revvi, and what to expect from each model.
Why choose a Revvi?
- Lightweight and quiet. Easier for a child to handle than a petrol mini bike, and much quieter to ride.
- Grows with your child. Several models cover ages from about 2 up to 12 and beyond.
- Adjustable speed. Each bike has speed settings, so you can start slow and unlock more as confidence grows.
- Balance-bike mode. With the power off, most models can be pushed along like a normal balance bike, which is ideal for first rides.
How to find the right size: height matters more than age
Every child grows at their own pace, so we recommend choosing by height and inseam first and using age only as a guide.
Size guide
| Model | Child’s height | Inseam | Typical age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revvi 12″ | 85–105 cm | 30–38 cm | 2–6 years |
| Revvi 16″ | 100–115 cm | 38–45 cm | 5–8 years |
| Revvi 16″ Plus | 100–115 cm | 38–45 cm | 5+ years |
| Revvi 18″ | 115–130 cm | 45–51 cm | 8–10 years |
| Revvi 20″ | 130 cm and over | 51 cm and over | 10+ years |
Between two sizes? A child on the cusp is usually happier on the smaller bike while they build confidence, then moves up. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will talk it through.
How to measure
- Height. Stand your child against a wall without shoes. Mark the top of their head and measure from the floor to the mark.
- Inseam. Ask them to stand with their back to the wall, with a book held snugly between their legs. Measure from the floor to the top of the book.
- Check the fit. Seated on the bike, your child should be able to put both feet flat on the ground. The handlebars are adjustable, so they can be set to a comfortable reach.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 16″ and the 16″ Plus?
The Plus adds front suspension, disc brakes and upgraded components. It suits riders who are more confident or ride on rougher ground.
How long does a Revvi last?
With regular care a Revvi will last for years, and the battery can be replaced when it eventually wears out. A typical charge gives around 45 to 60 minutes of riding.
Can the speed be increased?
We do not recommend changing the speed settings. It is unsafe and can affect your warranty.
Can they ride in the rain?
Light rain is fine, but the bikes are not waterproof. Avoid heavy rain, deep puddles and very wet grass, and dry the bike after a damp ride.
Where can they ride?
On private land only, such as a garden, a field or a track with the landowner’s permission. Revvi bikes must not be ridden on public roads or pavements.
Safety and care
- Always wear a helmet. Gloves and pads are strongly recommended.
- Children should always be supervised while riding.
- Keep the tyres inflated and check the brakes before every ride.
- Clean the bike after use and keep it away from water.
- Charge the battery as instructed and store the bike indoors.
Helping your child ride with confidence
- Start in the lowest speed setting, or with the power off, on flat open ground.
- Let them get comfortable with the brakes before they speed up.
- Praise small wins and keep the first sessions short and fun.
- Move up a speed setting only when they are ready.
